Abdominal exercises are one of the hottest, and yet, most controversial topics in the fitness and exercise industry. Hundreds of ab gadgets, gimmicks, and exercise machines have flooded the market for people looking for sexier and flatter abdominals… that sexy six-pack abs appearance that everyone seeks.  And we all know that not all of them can fulfill their promises of how to get flat abs.

It may come to a surprise that most of these abdominal solutions are not really solutions at all to getting sick pack abs. Before even getting started with any abdominal exercises, you have to be sure that you have lost any extra belly fat you may be holding on to. If you were to lose that extra belly fat, you may be surprised to see abs forming without any abs exercises performed. This is because some people already have decent abs, but just have a layer of fat that is hiding the abs. All you really have to do is learn how to lose love handles.

Instead of focusing so much on abdominal exercises to make your stomach flatter and more like a six-pack, you will lose much more body fat by focusing the majority of your training time with special combinations of high intensity full-body, multi-joint exercises. Training to do full body workouts are much more efficient in losing belly fat than doing exercises that target only a small portion of the body at once.

Be sure to do exercises that workout your legs, upper and lower back, and chest as these are the ones that give you the most metabolic bang in terms of losing abs fat. Combining these types of big multi-joint exercises in high intensity super-set, tri-set, or circuit fashion gives you the biggest fat-burning and metabolism boosting response from your workouts.

Now when it comes to abdominal-specific exercises, another mistake most people make is mindlessly pumping away with hundreds of crunches and other meaningless abs exercises that barely give your abdominals much resistance to work against. A good measure to know if you are getting a good abs workout with an abs exercise is to determine if you can do 20-25 reps with ease. If so then you are not doing yourself any favors by continuing this exercise as you are not getting enough resistance to the abs with that particular exercise of the abs. Exercises that challenge you to do 6-15 reps are the ones you need to work out to get six pack abs.

A couple good examples of these higher resistance abdominal exercises are hanging leg raises or knee raises using a “pelvic curl up”, or an exercise like lying hip thrusts. I am sure you have felt accomplished one time in your life or another for doing 100 crunches in one sitting, however if you can do more than 3 proper hanging leg raises, that would be something to legitimately be proud of.

If you really want tighter flatter abdominals that look like a six-pack, remember that losing that extra belly fat is the MOST important factor. For the best body fat loss guides, visit RapidAbs!

Tired of the usual and boring abs exercises that don’t even produce results? This article is intended to help you find out how to get flat abs through using a workout that provides high intensity stabilization techniques. I like to give my readers better options for metabolism-boosting high intensity workouts that work their entire body while also working their abs.

I am going to present a great high intensity workout you can do to get ripped abs that don’t even directly point to straight up abs exercise at all. It’s in a tri-set format (similar to a super-set but alternating between 3 exercises).

Here goes:

1a. Renegade Dumbbell Rows

1b. Front Squats with Barbell

1c. Mountain Climbers on Floor

For each exercise, 3-4 sets of 8 reps would be a great rep scheme to follow.  You can also do more sets and less reps, 5 sets of 5 reps or something like that. For mountain climbers, your sets would be time intervals (every 30 seconds).

Renegade dumbbell rows are done starting in a pushup position with the hands on 2 dumbbells. You then row one dumbbell up while stabilizing your body with the other arm. Then bring the dumbbell back to the ground and do the other arm.  Be sure the whole time that you keep your body in a controlled manner and you are keeping form. So how does this work out my abs you may be asking?  The stabilizing effect during the rows it what creates work for your abdominals. Don’t think your abs are getting a workout, wait til you feel it in the morning!

Front squats as you most likely guessed it are just like back squats, only difference being that you are positioning the barbell in front of your body on the front of your shoulders rather than on the upper back. Set the barbell on your shoulders with your arms crossed and push your firsts into the bar against your shoulders, keeping your elbows out in front. This takes a little practice at first, so you will want to seek a professional trainer at your gym to help you with the form. Your abs are working through the extreme stabilization your body is going through as the weight shifts to the front of your body creating this strenuous stabilization strength effort. This is another exercise that you’ll be feeling in your abdominals area!

Just like the renegade dumbbells, mountain climbers have a starting position of a pushup.  You then shuffle the your feet in and out so that your knees come up to your chest and back out to the starting position. It gets its workout name due to the fact that it simulates climbing a mountain but you are flat on the floor. Mountain climbers is one of the best way to lose belly fat as it burns off body fat.

These are tri-sets so after doing an exercise, rest only for about 30 seconds, and then go on to the next one immediately. For the completion of each tri-set, rest for about 1-2 minutes before repeating the whole tri-set.

In spite of the fact that there are no direct abs exercises involved, this is one of the best abs exercises you can do. Do the workout and you’ll become believer too!
